Prek 3 ( Adele Leeds / Michele Zinicola)

This week’s letter is I. Together we’ll make an igloo ( with mini marshmallows ), make insects ( learn what they are, where they live, what they eat) and experiment with ice: what makes ice melt?
We’ll do a letter I search worksheet and practice writing the letter I.
At circle time we’ll create a colorful turkey ( color, letter and number review ) and use turkey feathers for a patterning activity.

We’ll paint with corn cobs and make mini Mayflowers!

We’ll read I Love Bugs( Philemon Sturges ), Bugs Are Insects (Anne Rockwell), Bugs, Bugs, Bugs ( Bob Barner ), T is for Turkey (Tanya Lee Stone ), The 12 Days of Thanksgiving ( Jenna Lettice ), The Story of Thanksgiving ( Nancy J. Skarmeas ) and The Pilgrims’ First Thanksgiving ( Ann Mc Govern ).

We’ll learn and illustrate this poem

First we give thanks for the food we are given
Then we give thanks for the houses we live in
Then we give thanks for the sun that shines above
But mostly we give thanks for the people we love
