Welcome 2017!!  We hope everyone had a very special holiday and time off with their loved ones.

We will be starting of the New Year with the following things planned:

  • Weekly theme : New Beginnings/Happy New Year & all about ice (introduction)
  • Letter of the week : J j
  • Math skills : graphing. We will record weather daily and graph it at end of month, graphing favorite weather
  • Science: different types of  weather: incorporating with our daily circle time routine


  • Jellyfish
  • Rainbow writing ‘J’, naming ‘J’ words
  • New Year’s Activity/journal entry
  • Marble painting snowflakes for winter bulletin board
  • Science Experiment using ice and salt
  • ‘Snow’ paint

Prek 2 ( Nellie Westpy ) 

Happy New Year to you and your families! We are so happy to have your children back as they were missed by us all over break. This week we will be doing the following activities:

  • Theme of the week: New beginnings

Some projects we will be doing:

  • An owl mobile
  • An octopus
  • The letter o with cheerio cereal
  • We will also be using oats to make the letter o with our fingers.

Math: We will be using cheerios to practice counting as well.
