Prek 4 ( Adele Leeds )

The children have created beautiful holiday decorations: wreaths, trees and snowmen! You’ll see them displayed at our holiday show. We’ve been practicing our songs and verses and the children are enthusiastic and talented!

We talk often about the reason and spirit of this season and the children are showing us each day their thoughtfulness and kindness. The kids are proud of the gifts they are bringing in to give to those in need. Thank you so much!

This week’s letter is J and we’ll make jellyfish, jack-in-in-the-box and strawberry jam ( strawberries and a little sugar). We’ll measure and mix together and spread the jam on saltines. Tasting is optional!!

At circle time, we’ll have lessons on patterning ( using colorful dot stampers) and sequencing ( putting picture cards in order to tell a short story).

We’ll read One Winter’s Night byJohn Herman  and Night Tree by Eve Bunting.

We had a terrific week at school!

We are working on many holiday projects and having fun reading our holiday books!

We continue to practice our letters.  This week we worked on the letter H.  We made sticker hearts for the letter H, we made helicopters for the letter H, and we made our own hands for the letter H.

It was so much fun tracing our own hands and remembering our right hand and our left hand!

At circle time, we sang our new finger-play songs about snowmen, we worked on our letters, months, days of the week, colors, shapes, seasons, and numbers.

We continue to practice our school manners, taking turns, sharing, and being kind and helpful to each other.

Next week, we will begin the letter I and continue with our numbers 1 to 4.

We are practicing for our holiday show and are having so much fun learning the special songs.

At music time, we are enjoying dancing and singing to the Reindeer Hokey Pokey!

School is a fun place to be – remember to wear your smile to school!
