This week is “All About Me” week!! I love this week because it helps me to get to know your children better! Please feel free to send in pictures to hang up in the classroom for the week! I would LOVE to hear all about the pictures from the students! :)They can be pictures of the students themselves or family members. I will not cut them in anyway so they will be returned the way that you send them in 🙂 Any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to me at any time 🙂

We’ll discover C words with a C box and make “name” caterpillars after reading Eric Carle’s The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

We’ll read Cows Can Moo,Can You? ( Bonnie Worth ). We are looking forward to our visit to the farm!

Circle time is fun; we check the weather and date and find our name cards!

We are working in our workbooks on letters A and B and the color red!

This week we’ll practice the B sound and B words, trace Bs and count with little bears ( number and color review).
We’ll make shape collages ( shape and color review), birds and butterflies!
We’ll read Blueberries for Sal (Robert McCloskey), Biscuit Visits the Big City (Alyssa Satin Capucilli) and Buzz Said the Bee (Wendy Cheyette Lewiston).

We’re off to a great start in PreK 3! We are getting to know each other and learning our names and classroom routines and rules.

At circle time we greet each other, check the calendar and weather, review colors, numbers and shapes and listen to stories!

This week we’ll do apple counting, practice the A sound and learn some A words.
Look for our apple trees and letter A alligators!

We wanted to take a moment to welcome you all once again! The kids have adjusted beautifully with no issues at all! The first couple days we just had the kids get comfortable before we went full swing into our routine. This week we will introduce the first letter and work on the first math concept. The Thank You Book

I cannot believe that it is the end of the year already!!! Graduation is coming up on June 13th and it will be here before we know it! A reminder that we are having practice at the Quaker Church Location on Wednesday. If your child is part day and doesn’t eat lunch at Little Promises please drop them off and pick them up at that location on Wednesday June 6th. I want to take a moment and say thank you to all the parents for letting Melissa and myself spend the day with your child. This first year for myself has been AMAZING and your children have been a blessing for me to have. I have enjoyed each and every single day!!!! Melissa and myself talk about how lucky we were to have such a wonderful class 🙂

This is our last weekly theme of the year. This week we will be doing some review of the letters, keep practicing writing our first and last names, we will be discussing opposites and will be doing some fun summer art projects :)Your child’s alphabet workbook will be going home this week :)Please be sure to keep practicing over the summer 🙂

Science skill : having the children touch and feel the kernels then bringing in a popcorn maker to have pop in front of them to see how it opens and expands!

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

Prek 4 ( Adele Leeds )
We’ll read  The Very Hungry Caterpillar ( Eric Carle ) and create caterpillars and butterflies! We’ll snack on edible butterflies ( pretzels, oranges and strawberries).

To challenge our observation and predicting skills, we’ll place a raw egg  in a  plastic container filled with vinegar. Over two to three days the vinegar should slowly dissolve the calcium shell and the egg will look and feel like a balloon filled with jelly!

I’ll fill a jar with plastic insects and ask the children to estimate how many.
We’ll use goldfish ( pretzel, cheese and plain) to sort, count and graph!

We are finishing  our workbook pages and  our alphabet review books!
We are enjoying learning our songs for graduation!
